Christopher D. Livingston was born in St. Louis Missouri. Chris received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas in 1995, where he was an Honors Program Student and a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Societies. He received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in 1998, where he was a member of the Board of Advocates and was selected to the 1997 and 1998 Robert F. Wagner National Labor and Employment Moot Court Teams.
Chris was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1998. Additionally, he is licensed and admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; and the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. Chris is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute.

Chris has lectured before the Texas Department of Insurance, the National Association of Attorneys General, the Texas Medical Association, and continuing education groups on ERISA preemption. Additionally, he has been cited as authority in the Boston University Law Review. See 81 B.U.L. REV. 867 (2001).
Before coming to Lyon, Gorsky, Haring & Gilbert, L.L.P., Chris worked for a large defense firm, and served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge William M. Acker, Jr. of the Northern District of Alabama and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas.
Chris is married to the former Ashley Elizabeth Bunnell of Midland, Texas. They and their son, Schuyler, live in Dallas, Texas.
